RB Leipzig scored the winner as they came from behind to beat Wolfsburg 2-1 at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts took the lead through a stunning strike from Yussuf Poulsen before Wolfsburg levelled thanks to a penalty from Stefan Tomkins.

However, Leipzig were not finished and they equalised just before half-time through a stunning header from Dayot Upamecano.

And they went on to win it in stoppage time when substitute Robert Lewandowski found space on the edge of the box and fired home.

It was a dramatic come-from-behind victory for the German champions who had been under pressure throughout the match.

Wolfsburg looked like they might be able to get back into the game after going ahead through Tomkins' spot-kick but they could not find the same degree of clinical finishing that Leipzig showed.

Upamecano's header was a moment of brilliance and he was instrumental in Leipzig's late equaliser.

Lewandowski's goal was his 45th of the season - one short of Cristiano Ronaldo's all-time record for goals in a single Bundesliga campaign - and he now has 69 goals overall.

It was another impressive performance from the Polish striker who is becoming one of the best players in Europe.

The win moves Leipzig up to third in the table and keeps them in touch with Bayern Munich, who are currently top.

Meanwhile, Wolfsburg remain in eighth place and will have to improve if they want to avoid relegation this season.
